Finally a device has arrived that can record at full 720 x 576 resolution, 25fps and 8mb/s. There are other recorders available that can do this but at the moment, this is the only one with a built-in colour screen!

The HQR2 is a micro pocket dvr that records high quality D1 video to a CF card up to 32gb in size. A 32gb card will hold around 8 hours of video at full quality. It has a built-in lithium polymer battery that will power both itself and any bullet camera for over 3 hours. We've had over 5 hours record time when used with the Sony HQ2 bullet camera. We can also supply external battery packs which will add a further 5 hours record time. The HQR-2 can be connected to any regulated 12v supply for even longer record times.

HQR2 can be set to record in either mpeg2 or mpeg4 and has 6 quality settings so you can get much more video on your CF card if you're willing to sacrfice a bit of video quality or you are filming low motion video.

This pocket DVR is fully compatible with the CamEye LANC remote controller which can be used to turn the unit on/off and also start/stop recording at the touch of a button. This really is a professional grade digital video recorder that's easy to use with it's on screen menu system.

This unit can be configured in lots of ways and supports time/date stamp, loop mode recording and motion detection.

It has external audio inputs if you want to connect it to an audio device such as an external mic or an intercom system. It's built-in mic also works really well and we expect most customers will be more than happy with the sound quality from this mic and not having the extra cabling involved with a separate mic. Connection to the HQR-2 from the camera is a high quality Lemo connector.

Full audio gain control is accessed by the on-screen menu so it doesn't matter whether your are skiiing, snowboarding, cycling, in a racing car or on a bike, you'll be able to set it up and get a really good sound track to your video.

When used with the HQ2 camera, the video quality is way better than anything else on the market.

Important note:
The HQR-2 does not support video playback. This must be done on a computer.
Mpeg2 video must be converted on a PC using the supplied software before it can be played.
Mpeg4 video will play back on a PC or a MAC without any additional software. More info and downloads below.

This recorder requires a high speed CF card if you want to record at full quality.
You need at least a 45x speed CF card to do this.
